UK-based solar and storage firm Anesco has expanded into the German market with the launch of Anesco Germany and the acquisition of renewables specialist, Aeos Energy.

Anesco Germany will offer an end-to-end solution for renewables investors; from site development, design and construction, to ongoing operation and maintenance services.

Aeos Energy, based in Langenfeld, Germany, has been developing, constructing and operating solar and onshore wind projects in Germany since 2007. The company has a portfolio of 55 sites under operational management and a pipeline of development opportunities ahead.

The new business will be headed up by Aeos’ founder and MD, Guido Fiebes, who has worked in the energy industry for almost 30 years. “I am delighted to be partnering with Anesco, whose technical expertise, scale and battery knowledge will help accelerate our growth at a critical time,” commented Fiebes

Mark Futyan, Anesco CEO, commented: “We’re thrilled to announce Anesco’s entry into the German market and I look forward to working closely with Guido and the team.

“Germany is a really exciting market right now and we see many opportunities ahead, as the country looks to achieve its carbon reduction goals through the rapid deployment of renewables. Our strong track record at Anesco, combined with the established links and reputation of the team at Aeos Energy, puts us in a fantastic position to capitalise on this.

“We are also excited to pursue opportunities in new areas, such as wind, where Aeos Energy again has expertise.”

The new German subsidiary forms part of Anesco’s European expansion programme, which follows the opening of Anesco’s first subsidiary outside the UK, Anesco Netherlands, in March 2022.

Established in Reading, UK, in 2010, Anesco has constructed more than 130 solar farms and energy storage facilities to date, while its operations and maintenance team has more than 24,000 assets under management.
